This Week, on the Email Trail

Hey. It's time to Email.

The 2nd half of this week has been crazy. The first half, not so much.

Basically we got haircuts on Monday, and Elder Taea said goodbye to several families, he packed, I cleaned, all good stuff.

Thursday morning rolled around, and we got ready for Transfers. we had a last Breakfast, because several Elders were leaving. So after that we all headed down to Rexburg to the transfer site.

A little waiting later, the *transfer "train"* arrived. Elder Taea went to Sugar City,

AND My new companion Elder VanOrman jumped off, and joined me in Ashton. We went up unpacked, cleaned a bit more, then went to dinner. We showed him off to lots of people and introduced him to some of our ward leaders.

He is:
from Washington near Seattle,
as old as I,
a movie enthusiast,
hungry,
fairly funny (this one takes time to figure out),
a good missionary,
fun,
shorter than I,
and that's it.

Saturday we ate a ton of Shrimp, and Elder VanOrman's pen exploded and we got it all out with rubbing alcohol.
Sunday we went to a ton of church, taught missionary prep (fun as always) and then taught an awesome family that just moved up here and are really interested in the gospel. Super Fun!

anyway I gotta finish this email in 10 minutes and my pictures say they are going to be another 40....

RETURN of the EMAIL

Hey Everyone! It's time for another Email!!

This Week it's Easter and Transfers!

So I will start by talking about HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE IN WEST YELLOWSTONE my word there are a lot of people. And we are are told that it's "still slow" whatever that means.

Anyway while there we visited an awesome family. They had a ton of kids over from other families so it was very helpful to meet a ton of people at once. Also I helped the kids design a blanket fort.

The other abnormal thing was on Sunday we went to church as usual, but out of the four sacrament meetings we attended that day three of them had a (surprisingly skilled) young girl singing a cool song about the atonement. It's just after the third time hearing it, there was nothing I could do to stop it from being stuck in my head for the rest of the day.  so that was nice.

anyway, The BIG news is transfers! of course, I am not going anywhere. I have only been here for a short while, and so I didn't have to worry. However, my companion, Elder Taea, has been here for a while... and is no longer going to be up here. He is being transferred to Sugar City! Just down the road.

My new companion is Elder VanOrman. I don't know him, but a few missionaries say I will like him... we will see... He is coming from Rigby. so not super far.

anyway Super exited for that!

Easter was a blast, This transfer was a blast, and everything is going great!

Hey, Email!

Hey everyone I sent this email at 8 this morning and just realized that I didn't put any recipients in the 'to' field so I am re sending my email sorry

Hi everyone! Sorry for the crappy email last week! I just wanted to say that it's been super rainy and so that's why.

Anyway I wanted to first talk about conference. What an amazing thing that we get to hear from living prophets and apostles, multiple times every year! It's a wonderfully opportunity to reflect and learn and listen to the spirit. I hope you all have listened to at least one of the talks again, if not get on that. Start with President Nelson's.

Anyway this week has been pretty normal. We visited a ton of people, drove a ton of places, and did more service! Actually fun story about the service. Thursday. There is a monthly food bank handout Ashton. And volunteers help with all the labor that morning. So naturally we are there. But the funny thing was when they started pulling food off of the truck I recognized some of the pallets. I realized that I had helped pack similar pallets of food just a month previous also at a service activity at the food bank. It was great, odd, wonderful,  to see them here.
Right now I am typing this out on a crappy Bluetooth keyboard at 9am in our apartment because It is unlikely that I will have anytime at an actual computer to do this. Oh well. Last week I had that hope and look what happened there.

Anyway probably the coolest thing that we did this week was we taught Mission Prep again, and this time we knew about it beforehand and were able to prepare effectively. I think it went really well! We had a blast talking about the Atonement of Jesus Christ and why it was important as a missionary. It was super cool and a really good time.

Anyway just some random stuff before I go,
Bill (the member we live with) has a grandson living with him as well now. He just got back from his mission is Nicaragua and is going to BYUI.

There is officially no snow in Ashton anymore. It only took an extra two months than the rest of our mission.
West Yellowstone still has snow.

Anyway that's all for now! Hope everyone has an awesome week, I have some pictures from service, so check that out, and that's it!

Short, Sweet Email

Hi Family,

In response to your questions:

Basically nothing has been cooked recently! we share our home with a member and our cupboards that we have are FULL OF JUNK LEFT BY OTHER MISSIONARIES! AGG. so I have avoided using the kitchen until I can clean it out and make it nice.
Who has been his Companion?
Elder Anderson
(for 4.5 months total)
Elder Cluff
(for 1.5 months)
Elder Eck
(for 4.5 months total)
Elder Harvey
(for 3 months total)
Elder Hicks
(for 1.5 months total)
Elder Taea

(for 1.5 months total)

my new(old) companion is Elder Taea. he is from Hawaii and is quieter than even I am! Crazy! anyway he is a blast. he makes ties, and basically will make a new one every few days.

The area is weird. Because it is big. we don't have a ton of time in IP and West, but they seem like there is a bit of work up there.

The number one thing is... space. there is so much nothing up here! houses are miles apart! it's crazy!

anyway I might not be able to email this week because we are going bowling in just a bit. But I will definitely try!
